Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm Still Here Because I Learned How to Talk Back to My Brain.

For 30 years, I've battled major depressive disorder, anxiety, insomnia, and probably a side of OCD and ADHD thrown in for good measure.

I know what it's like to drown in self-doubt daily. To lie awake replaying every conversation. To feel stuck in your own head with no idea how to get out.

At my lowest, suicidal ideation made an appearance. My family became my anchor—my husband of 17 years, our smart-ass (in the best way) 16-year-old son, my parents, and my sister. Without them, I wouldn't be here today.

But here's the thing: I didn't get better by accident.

I got better because I learned how to work with my brain instead of against it. And now I teach other people—skeptics, overthinkers, people who think mindset work is fluff—how to do the same.

THE TURNING POINT:

I didn't wake up one day and decide to become a mindset coach.

For years, I thought self-help wasn't for me. I struggled with the more spiritual approaches—vision boards and manifestation felt disconnected from my reality. Meditation sounded impossible. Mindfulness felt like something only naturally calm people could do.

(If those things work for you? Amazing. Truly. I'm all for whatever helps. But I needed something different.)

Then my sister and I started co-hosting a podcast called The Mental Funny Bone. We dug into self-help—partly out of curiosity, partly because we desperately needed something that worked.

That's when I found two books that changed everything:

Mark Manson's The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck — which gave me permission to stop pretending everything was fine.

Dan Harris's 10% Happier — which made meditation feel like something a skeptical, anxious person could actually do.

I started working with a transformational life coach who introduced me to real mindset work, mindfulness practices, and meditation techniques that didn't require me to sit cross-legged on a mountaintop.

And slowly—very slowly—things started to shift. Not overnight. Not magically. But consistently.

I learned how to catch my thoughts before they spiraled. I learned how to sit with discomfort instead of running from it. I learned that my brain wasn't broken—it was just loud, and I could teach it to chill.

WHY I DO THIS:

I became a Certified Life Coach and Certified Cognitive Behavioral Life Coach because I wanted to help people the way I was helped—with real tools, real talk, and a practical approach.

I don't do toxic positivity. I don't pretend this work is easy. I don't sell quick fixes or tell you to "just think positive."

What I do is this:

  • I give you CBT-inspired tools that actually work

  • I tell you the truth—even when it's hard

  • I meet you where you are, not where you think you "should" be

  • I help you build a mindset, mindfulness, and meditation practice that fits your real life

This work takes time. It takes effort. But it's worth it. And I'm here for you the whole way.

WHO I AM (BEYOND THE COACHING):

I live in Pittsburgh, PA with my husband and son. My family is everything to me.

By day, I work in IT. By night (and weekends, and early mornings), I do this—because this is my purpose.

I love reading nonsense fiction and watching true crime documentaries. I'm still an overthinker. I still have hard days. But now I have tools to handle them.

And I want you to have them too.

MY APPROACH:

I'm not here to tell you what should or shouldn't work for you. If crystals and affirmations light you up, that's beautiful—keep doing that.

But if you're someone who needs a more grounded, practical approach? That's where I come in.

What I will do is teach you how to:

  • Notice your thoughts before they spiral

  • Challenge the stories your brain tells

  • Use mindfulness without needing an hour to spare

  • Build a meditation practice that works even if you can't sit still

My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles—because they work. It's practical, evidence-based, and designed for real people with real lives.

No fluff. No woo-woo. Just what works.

IF YOU'RE STILL READING THIS...

You're probably wondering if this is for you.

Here's my answer: If you're skeptical, you're exactly who I made this for.

If you've tried meditation once and gave up after 30 seconds, you're in the right place.

If you think mindset work sounds nice in theory but have no idea how to actually do it, I've got you.

If you're tired of feeling stuck in your own head and you're ready to try something that doesn't involve vision boards or affirmations, let's talk.

You don't need to have it all together. You don't need to be "fixed."

You just need to be willing to try—and I'll help you figure out the rest.
